About school

The program of the summer school "The Problem of Power in Russia's History (the Monarchical and Republican Traditions in the History of Russian Statehood: X-XXI Centuries.") is aimed to candidates for Master’s degree and postgraduate students of foreign universities. 

Requirements for students: understanding the main epochs of Russian history and world history, the essence of historical processes in different countries, the role of personality in history (as a result of their power). 

Program Length:  72 hours ( 14 days,  5 hours per day). 

After studying the course the student will:

have an ideas:

• on  the main periods of the history of Russia;

• on causal relationships defining the problem of the history of Russia;

• on the place and role of Russia in the world’s history and prospects of development of Russia .

know:

• the main facts and events in the history of power in Russia;

• the standing state and social public figures of the history of Russia.

have skills of:

• comparing and analyzing comparable historic events;

• educing general and specific problems of power in Russia and in other countries;

• defining and proving personal point of view about different historical events in the history of Russia;

• comparing and analyzing personal characteristics of state and social public figures in the history of Russia.
  
  

  Final work is prepared on the basis of the comparative analysis of the problem of power in Russian history and the history of the student’s country, stressing their common and special features. In case of successful presentation of the final work the student is given a state-recognized certificate about the completion of the author’s course "The Problem of Power in the History of Russia (the Monarchical and Republican Traditions in the History of Russian Statehood: X-XXI centuries)."
